Start your day early at 5:30 AM at our German restaurant in Kamala, where your experienced tour guide is already waiting for you. Together, you'll begin your adventure to the first stop: the Big Buddha, who awaits you at sunrise. Let the monkeys and our tour guide accompany you on the way up, where you'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the island and a significant landmark of Phuket.

Buddhism is one of the key pillars of Thai daily life, and on the way to the Big Buddha, you'll have the opportunity to observe the monks as they seek donations from the locals. The monks rely solely on donated goods and food, which is an integral part of their religious practices.

Highlights

Wat Chalong - Buddhist Temple in Phuket

Wat, translated to English: Temple. The temple in the Chalong district is the largest and most significant temple in Phuket and, like the Big Buddha, is also a must-visit destination for every tourist in Phuket. So, we're already at the second stop of our tour. Here, you can enjoy the tranquility and explore the temple since most tour buses only arrive after 10 o'clock in the morning.

The visit to the sprawling temple usually begins with an offering for the revered monks. For approximately €0.50, you can get a small offering in a building located between the main temple and the large Chedi, which includes flowers, as well as a bundle of incense sticks and a candle.

We will explain the voluntary offering process to you on-site and only if you wish to participate. The offerings can be made irrespective of other religions or beliefs but should come from the heart.

The large Chedi of Wat Chalong - worth a visit up to the roof Our tour through the temple "Wat Chalong" also includes a guided tour of the large Chedi and the ascent to the top floor, from where you can enjoy a view over the temple complex.

TIME FOR BREAKFAST - DIM SUM

Sightseeing can make you hungry, so we'll have a traditional breakfast. With delicious Dim Sum, we offer you a selection of tasty dishes that are typical of the region and exceptionally delicious.

OTHER SIGHTSEEING SPOTS

Other attractions include a beautiful viewpoint where you can admire the west coast of the island and have an overview of 3 bays (Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon). Additionally, we will stop at one of the most beautiful beaches to cool off, as it can get really hot as the day goes on.

Meet & Depart at Kokosnuss
We depart from the Kokosnuss Restaurant at around 05:30 AM.
Sunrise at the Big Buddha
We'll arrive at the Big Buddha just in time for the sunrise, allowing us to enjoy not only the view but also the cool air, the vista of Chalong, Promthep Cape, the monkeys, and much more.
Wat Chalong
After a short (optional and voluntary) coffee break on the way to Wat Chalong, we now stop at Wat Chalong, Phuket's largest and most significant temple. Here, too, we can enjoy absolute tranquility since tour buses arrive much later.
Dim Sum Breakfast
A successful cultural journey also includes a culinary experience. Dim Sum is a Thai-Chinese breakfast consisting of many small snacks. Don't worry, there's something for everyone.
Phuket Town Stroll
After breakfast, we'll take a short walk and show you a few highlights of Phuket Old Town.
Promthep Cape
Promthep Cape is the southernmost point of Phuket and offers a breathtaking view. However, we won't stop amidst the crowds but at a secluded temple that is non-touristy, where we can enjoy not only the view but also the tranquility.
Additional stops on the way back to Kamala.
It's getting hotter, and we have a few more stops on the way back to Kamala, such as Karon Viewpoint or Yanui Beach.
Arrival at the Coconut Restaurant
Typically, it's time for guests to relax now, and in the evening, guests return to the Coconut because we have a dinner waiting for you, which we invite you to join us for here at our place.
